Dragonology
Last week Year 6 began to investigate an unsolved mystery noted in Charles Darwin’s final diary. We were led to the work of a dragonologist by the name of Ernest Drake. Here we picked up clues of how to become expert dragonologists and help answer the unsolved question... do dragons really exist?
We created our own dragon eyes, using detailed sketching and various repeated patterns to design a complex eye design.

We researched known dragons and used existing research to develop our own non-chronological reports on various different species of dragon.
Finally, Year 6 worked extremely hard to produce a setting description for the first chapter of their narrative stories.
