New Reception Parents 21/22
What’s Your Name?
When your child starts school it’s a huge advantage if they can recognise their name written down. Our latest video from Miss Jones shows a fab way they can start to recognise the letters that make up their name.
Hello everyone, this last half term is going really fast and very soon we will be seeing you in school.
In your classroom there is a special area where we like to have a picture of everyone and show their birthday. Have a look at the video below and you will see Miss Jones getting her bauble ready to hang.
By now you should have received a special delivery of your own bauble, complete with a string to hang it.
Have fun and we shall look forward to hanging your bauble when you start in September.
Reception September Dates 2021-22
What day do I start school?
Monday 6th September (8:45-3:15)- just new to school children
Tuesday 7th September (8:45-3:15)- all children to attend school
Let’s Look Around!
Miss Jones has recorded videos showing you how to enter school, where we hang our things up and our classrooms. She has also walked through to the lunch hall and outside to the early years garden. I hope you enjoy looking at your new classroom!
Let’s walk into school!
Let’s look at our other classroom!
Let’s look at where we go for lunch and playtime!
I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles, Pretty Bubbles in the Air!
For Miss Jones' next trick, she's going to show children how to make a bubble machine.
Everyone by now should have received all their items to make their own, either via a special delivery to your home address or from an older sibling in school.
Miss Jones has had a fun time making hers, we hope you do too!
It’s Story Time!
We hope you are well and enjoyed planting the sunflower seeds. We’d love to see how you got on with them, don’t forget to upload a picture to our Facebook page either of your child planting the seeds or your sunflowers as they grow:
You may remember in her introductory video, Miss Jones told us all her favourite book was “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” by Michael Rosen & Helen Oxenbury. By now you should have received a copy for your child through the post. If you watch the video below you will be able to see Miss Jones read the story.
We hope you are well and are enjoying the warmer weather.
I am pleased to tell you we have now uploaded our next video. Here you will see Miss Jones also enjoying the sunshine and planting some sunflower seeds.
By now you should have received a letter in the post, with a little bag containing sunflower seeds for your child to plant at home. The seeds are Ring of Fire Sunflowers and can be planted directly into the ground outside 1.5cm part or as Miss Jones has done into a pot and then planted into the ground when hardier. The seeds are ready to plant now and should flower July to September.

We are very much looking forward to all our new reception pupils joining us in September to begin their learning journeys.
Normally at this time of year, we would start to invite children into school to visit us. Unfortunately, with COVID restrictions still in place, we are unable to do that at the moment.
However, we still want to ensure children have a smooth transition into school and to help, we will be posting a series of videos here over the coming weeks and sending activities home for children.
To start with, we thought the children might like to start getting to know Miss Jones, their class teacher. Click on the video below to meet Miss Jones and see what she gets up to after children have left school at the end of the day..........
