New Reception Parents 25/26

Welcome!

We are very much looking forward to all our new reception pupils joining us in September to begin their learning adventures.

During the summer term we will invite you into school for a welcome meeting and look forward to getting to know you.

In the meantime, to help with a smooth transition into school we will be posting a series of videos here and sending activities home for children.

Making a Bauble with Miss Jones

Let’s make a bauble to hang in your new classroom! You will need to get the plastic bauble out of your purple bag.

Can you find your favourite teddy to sit and listen to the story with you?

Building Words with Miss Jones

Let’s build CVC words together! You will need the Duplo and whiteboard pen from your purple bag.

How many words will you build?

Planting with Mrs. Colwell

Let’s go outside! Do you want to plant sunflower seeds with Mrs. Colwell? You will need to go and collect all of the sunflower seeds from your purple bag.

How tall will your sunflower grow?

Key Dates

Home Visit

Parents will be contacted via an online questionnaire to see if you want a home visit. If you choose a home visit a teacher will contact you and arrange a date and time.

Transition Day is Wednesday 9th July 2025.

Children that are in our school nursery will transition to their new class with their current teacher and will arrive for Nursery at 8:45am (usual time). If your child is new to school they are welcome to join us at 9:30am where they will be greeted by their new teachers at the school office. They will then be collected at 11:45am at the school office and teachers will walk children over to meet parents.
