Norton Canes Primary Academy

Believe, Achieve, Fly High

Our Provision

At Norton Canes Primary Academy we have a dedicated nursery provision for children aged 3 and 4 years.   We understand for some children, nursery will be their first experience of being outside of the home during the school day, our nurturing environment enables children to grow and gain their very first steps towards independence.

Led by a fully qualified teacher, our provision is educational whilst being fun and exciting.  Children engage in mini quests, enabling them to learn through exploration and play.  Have a look at our nursery page to see some of the exciting mini quests we have already completed this year.

Our team of highly qualified educators strive to develop confident, resilient, and enthusiastic youngsters who aim high and who are ready to embrace the world. We offer an exciting and varied range of opportunities in balance with a broad and enriching EYFS curriculum.

No 2 days are the same here at Norton Canes, however a during a typical day, your child will paint, dig, plant, create, explore and learn actively through our wide and rich curriculum. The whole school ethos to ‘AIM HIGH’ permeates through the Early Years as we encourage all children to become independent, lifelong learners. You will see the characteristics of effective learning: thinking critically; making connections; and solving problems, interwoven into the provision.

Our Early Years results evidence that our children make rapid and sustained progress through our curriculum.

Facilities

Our ample grounds mean we have a dedicated early years building and outdoor play areas for Ducklings, Nursery and Reception children, giving them a gradual introduction to primary school.  Staff go above and beyond to create amazing, interactive learning spaces - one day children will be entering the jungle, the next it could be a space ship or even a zoo!

We embrace the great outdoors and early years children have their own  forest school where children can discover the natural environment and a range of outdoor play spaces encouraging fresh air and physical fitness.

Don't just take our word for it...

Relationships between staff and children in early years are a strength. Staff are attentive and meet children’s emotional needs very well. In the Nursery, children are very well settled into the start of their life at the school.
